“How Can I Afford to Exercise?” This question has been passed to me from a health care worker and is a very valid question. Many people with chronic conditions are on a limited budget. How can we afford the costs of exercise?

(2/2) I was trying to keep this short, not a strength of mine.

Anyway, I am a living example that #MovementAsMedicine does work (not for every disease, of course).

There needs to be more financial support though, as it is not cheap.

It is going to be a hot afternoon, so I got my 4 kms walking done early.

However, I'm still only at 6,443 steps so to reach my daily goal I need another 1,057 steps. Don't want to go to the gym just for the treadmill!

I disagree. Sure, some do, but I can assure you many of us exercise our whole adult life, especially if, like myself, we are using #MovementAsMedicine.

I havecalso seen a LOT of very unfit mid-20s.

None of which changes the fact this 70 y/o took my own weights into rehab hospital 'cos their

#Surgery was Dec 2nd. I see the surgeon next week for my FINAL post-op. Today is the start of week 12, 2nd week in actual shoes! YAY!

As of yesterday, the foot is starting to return to normal. Still a bit swollen, but I'm walking multiple little walks each day.

My psoriatic arthritis is classified as a spondyloarthropy, and as we know, I use #MovementAsMedicine for basically the same reasons - stay off the big meds.

I gave up management positions when I got sick. Went back to sys admin/sys analyst roles. I could reduce my hours if needed too.

Management roles required too much energy when fatigue/lethargy is a major disease symptom.

Plus I needed to keep the #MovementAsMedicine going, needs energy + time.
