A very large volcanic cinder crone with an internal crater has a set of wide hiking trails around and across it. The cinder cone is black, red, orange, and brown — and very, very dry. There are a handful of hardy trees goring in the volcanic dirt. In the background you can see Mt Lassen, about ten miles / sixteen km away as the crow flies.
