#breien
My second Musselburgh hat has turned out amazingly, I'm so pleased with it 😍 the Scheepjes yarn is so lovely and soft

I'm loving the lighter colour change just as much as the dark 😍 And I'm excited to have my second Musselburgh hat finished

I'm so good at posting WIPs but so bad at posting FOs 😂 though in fairness to me this time, this hat is already seeing a lot of use in wet and windy London

First half of my second Musselburgh hat done. I love the long colour changes in a Scheepjes Whirl 😍 Now just to decide what sort of stitch to do for the second half 🤔

Stitch night at the Tea House Theatre with the Musselburgh hat that I cast on pretty much as soon as the first one was finished. Loving the colour changes in this Scheepjes Whirl.

My poor partner probably thought he was getting this corner of the lounge back. Unfortunately for him, my Musselburgh Hat was ready just as my Perfecto Cowl hat dried. 😂

This #Musselburghhat has taken forever. Was originally supposed to be a Christmas gift but then I got distracted by pumpkins. So now it's a birthday gift. 😂

Starting off the second half of my Musselburgh hat with this lovely, sparkly (not that you can tell from the pic) blue yarn. No idea where it came from, apart from the fact that it was probably a gift from my SIL

Enjoying a week off and jumping on the Musselburgh bandwagon. These lovely mini skeins came from For The Love of Yarn in some Christmas baubles she did years ago.

Hey, #KnitSky,
has anyone of you who knit the #MusselburghHat worked out which percentage of overall yarn used you need for the decrease section?
I'm playing yarn chicken over here and need to know. 🧶🐔

My sister's Christmas #MusselburghHat is finished, blocked, and ready to wrap!
So happy with how this turned out, and will definitely be casting on one for myself 🧶
One-fifth size posable plastic skeleton wearing the little Musselburgh Hat I knit. The middle orange section becomes a folded headband and the colorway at each end becomes two different crowns.

Views of the little Musselburgh Hat that I knit for my posable plastic skeleton. It has a solid orange middle section that folds into a brim and a colorway at each end that becomes two different crowns.
Little Musselburgh Hat I knit for my posable plastic skeleton. Total unfolded length of the hat seen here is about 4.25 inches (10.8 cm). The middle solid color becomes the folded brim when one end is tucked into the other.
It’s fun that Musselburgh hats are two in one. Obviously I had to knit one for my bony partner in crime. The resulting folded brim is four layers thick, though, which was challenging at this size.

The light is gone for today, but I got one photo. This is the Musselburgh Hat that I knit for my posable skeleton. It (the hat) is roughly 4.25 inches long (10.8 cm) and looks really cute. The middle section becomes the folded brim.

Finally a finished object after a long long long time! Couldn’t find a good wooly hat at shops for my little toddler but I’m a knitter, right? Went stash diving and made a #musselburghhat! Yarn is Fyberspate’s Vivacious 4-ply in Burnished.
A stocking cap with a white and grey dome and a red, black and charcoal brim. Only a sliver of red is visible on the lower right.
A stocking cap, unfolded, with a white and grey dome and a red, black and charcoal brim.
A stocking cap with the full lining showing. One end is a white and grey dome; the middle is a red, black and charcoal and the other some is a mixed red to maroon.
Finished! 🧶 #MusselburghHat
Done in leftover sock yarns in colors picked by the recipient.
An in progress Musselburgh hat with approximately a third in a white and grey sock yarn and approximately another third in red and charcoal sock yarn.
A completed Musselburgh hat in teal and variegated moss-to-sage green sock yarn, shown worn on the photographer, who is wearing glasses with teal accents.
Are we still on hats for #ShowMeYourKnits? Feeling a little meta working on one #MusselburghHat while wearing another! (Watching girls high school soccer because my love's daughter is centering for the State Tourney.) 🧶
A skein of hand-dyed wool yarn lying on a light surface. The yarn is tightly twisted and features deep charcoal grey tones blended with subtle streaks of rust, beige, and slate blue.
The same hand-dyed yarn wound into a neat ball, showing the colour pattern more clearly. Shades of grey dominate, interspersed with flecks of warm rust and pale taupe, giving a soft, variegated appearance.
The beginning of a knitted hat in progress, made from the same variegated yarn. The work is on circular needles with purple stitch markers visible. The knitted fabric shows concentric rings of mixed grey tones with hints of orange and beige.
I needed a good travel knitting project, and wanted to make another #musselburghHat anyways, but didn't have the perfect skein for it. So I dyed one, leftover from some long forgotten project about 10 years ago, SW merino/cashmere/nylon 80/10/10.

An in-progress Musselburgh stocking cap. The pattern is a long tube that gets folded back inside itself to be worn. The bottom half (of what's finished; will be about a third of the total length) is white and grey stripes. The top half is red and charcoal pooling in swirls. The red and charcoal will be the folded brim no matter which way the cap is worn. The white and grey could either be the outside or the lining.
Yea! #ShowMeYourKnits is on a WIP week! Since I can't seem to finish anything lately even though the end is in sight, here's the #MusselburghHat I started when it felt too warm to be making winter wear because now I need to finish it before it's too late. Made with leftover sock yarn.
