"But she knew words had power. Passing one forlorn page, she’d turned back, Bogeh enough—shaman enough—still, to sense the rising echoes of its words."

The #conlang in this passage had people turn away from my first edition. Did I not find the right readers? #mythopoeic readers?

Happy Tolkien Day!! Let this be a reminder that good will always win but in these darker moments we should remember that "all we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us"! #booksky #Tolkien #hobbit #LOTR #fantasy #mythopoeic

Award-Winning Fantasy Novels of 2024 This year’s award-winning fantasy books offer something for every taste, from melancholic fairy tales to gripping horror. Our fantasy and sci fi editor Sylvia Bishop introduces the winning titles.

“The society describe #mythopoeic work as ‘literature that creates a new and transformative #mythology, or incorporates and transforms existing mythological material’. It’s a really interesting award to keep an eye on …” fivebooks.com/best-books/b... #books #novels #sciencefiction #fantasy

Who I am? I write #fantasyfiction (among others, forthcoming). Some call it low fantasy. #Mythopoeic is a large word, but Tolkien did it, so did Ursula Le Guin. Not sword and sorcery, but there's swords. No epic yet, but I'm building a multicultural planet book by book--that's kinda epic.
