A blooming water lily is in the bottom right corner of this photo, while green leaf/pads of various sizes fill most of the rest of the picture. This is a small water feature at the Arboretum. The water appears black, with a mottled surface. The color of the lily itself, ranging from a pinky-coral at the tips of its petals to a more yellow interior gives the picture a faded, early 1900's feel to me. It's my new lockscreen. Happy Sunday!

Between rounds of illness, we made it over to the NC Arboretum for the Winter Lights. Filled with classic Christmas, tons of whimsy, and some reminders of what our region has been through this year, it was just what we needed for a touch of the holiday spirit!
