One of the healthiest squirrels I've ever seen. Looks happy, too. It was digging in the lawn, possibly looking for acorns it had stashed during fall for just this moment. It was in someone's side yard and I was taking pics from the street.

The duck pond is part of a huge cemetery, and staff told me this duck never crossed the water to where the visitors are but stays on the far side, swimming back and forth in shadow with her mallard companion. I absolutely needed the telephoto lens to capture it. I'm so glad I went back yesterday; I woke up this morning to heavy overcast and rain, and getting a good photo of this reclusive bird today would have been difficult.

This is the first time I've seen this bird. It's a female, and there was no male in sight. She was hanging out with a female mallard. At first I took pics in fog, but they were terrible, so I returned in late afternoon. Success! Details in ALT.

Cardinals are bright color during the dreary winter. They draw the eye and you can't help but take pictures of them.

Someone said a piliated woodpecker was there earlier, but it didn't make a reappearance while I was there. Processed in Topaz DeNoise first; shooting through glass, however clean, isn't the best when taking pics. That program did a great job of removing noise and grain while retaining detail. Check out the wing detail next to the tree.
