Update from the next night: Last night I didn't hear any #nycfireworks besides a few sparklers and a few in the distance, but not past 11:30 p.m. and I didn't need earplugs to go to bed. Maybe NYC in phase 2 helped, maybe the guys listened ❤️
This week's gonna be hard: sleep-deprived, thx #nycfireworks, tomorrow's 5th-grade virtual graduation & also the 38th anniversary of my cousin Vincent Chin's death, end our school year Fri, & accepting our class will never see each other together, in school, in person ever again.
Update: other than one sparkly set of #nycfireworks I haven't heard anything else. Don't know if they were spooked by the cops or they listened or what, but it's nice to have quiet now. Still awake cuz it's hard to get to bed after a confrontation like that- hoping to sleep soon.
Just went over & tried to talk to these guys. They cursed, called me a Karen, cops came (I didn't call em) & left, I talked to em again, sed I needed sleep & this summer in my 30+ years here just isn't normal #nycfireworks. Hope the guys listen. I'm so tired. Earplugs in tonight.
