In early January I was at #Narooma & photographed these Australian Pelicans skimming low over the shallow ebbing tide on the large sandflats. The birds had just been disturbed by two helicopters taking off. I love the back lighting & soft reflection in the water #birdphotography #wildlifephotography

Earlier in January, I had a great time in #Narooma watching & photographing a small group of Yellow-tailed Black #Cockatoos, also previously known as Funeral Cockatoos, due to their black plumage. They are beautiful birds #birdphotography #wildlifephotography

Sooty Oystercatchers generally inhabit rocky shores and, as this photo shows, they are not put off by waves. I took this photo at 1080 Beach, a quiet area just south of #Narooma earlier this month. #birdphotography #bird #wildlifephotography

Nankeen Kestrel (Falco cenchroides), Narooma, NSW June 2025

In mid-June I photographed this Nankeen Kestrel perched on a convenient sign at the start of a coastal walk south of #Narooma, NSW. These birds eat a variety of small animals allowing them to find food more easily than specialist feeders. #bird #birdlife #wildlifephotography
