Rather than issuing licenses the whole industry should be #nationalised now.

The Guardian reported that South East Water spent more on #dividends & servicing its #debt than on infrastructure upgrades. Specifically, they spent £156 million on dividends, £72.8 million on interest, & £179.8 million on infrastructure upgrades from 2020 to 2022.

In 1973 I was in charge of the grid in the S Wales valleys. Caerphilly Miners Hospital had a power cut and the chief engineer rang me up.
They had enough standby power for 24 hours. Nothing was interrupted, operations carried on as normal.
