I see quite a few lovely Cardinals in my yard. I’m no expert but it sounds like these Cardinals are calling to each other, with one singing and others responding.

During the covid shutdown in 2021, this fox was seen trotting by our yard and in the neighborhood frequently, probably because he thinks all the human are gone from planet earth. On this particular day, he decided to lounge around our yard and take a breather.

A yellow bellied sapsucker perches on the side of a Norway spruce tree. The ground is covered with a light dusting of snow and you can see orangy sunlight reflecting on the snow behind.

This friend just caused such a ruckus in my yard that my dog had to go investigate.

Turns out he was scolding a barred owl.
