When I add up all the time I've lost due to being #Neurodivergent over the course of my life. It feels like a bereavement. Entire dead years weighing me down. Hungry ghosts howling inside me. Invisible to the #Neurotypicals. It's not something NTs can understand. Or do they, and just chose not too?

I have no doubt that #trans and #autism folks will prevail against the forces arrayed against us. What I worry about is the #neurotypicals having to undergo a heavy search for self they themselves may not be prepared for. I think they are afraid of what our freedom means for them.

More accurately, SYMPTOMS would drop. Note that #ADHD adults are 4x more likely to smoke deadly cigarettes than #neurotypicals. The lead hypothesis is that they're self-medicating.

I gotta say that for me-living amongst #neurotypicals doesn't help in terms of stress- brain and gut are connected-you deal with ignorant people all day long-your gut gets shot. It might be only me,tho.

TIL that #neurotypicals will sometimes expect you, even in casual home settings, to stand up when someone enters the room. But not everyone, only people with some pre-determined status.
I’m genuinely going to be thrilled if/when 50%+ of people have #autism. Maybe then things will be easier.

I discuss this at length in my memoir, this altered, or perhaps alternate perception of the passage of time. It is the root of many personal problems; I can pick up where I left off 10 years ago 9 times out of 10. Most people, especially #neurotypicals soar galaxies away, emotionally in that time.

We need to smarten up and stop using the term "mental illness".
Our brains aren't sick, they're different. That's what #neurodivergent means, we think and feel different from #neurotypicals.
We're not all looking for a "cure", we're looking for acceptance and therapy.

But yeah, we #neurodivergent people tend to recognize each other. We're not mentally ill, we're just mentally different. It's that we don't fit in that makes us depressed. A lot of the time I just don't understand how #neurotypicals think.
