Partners in Flight estimates a global breeding population of 7 million and rates the species a 12 out of 20 on its Continental Concern Score, indicating it is a species of low conservation concern.

Center frame, perched facing right on a leafless diagonal branch sits a Golden-winged Warbler. From Allaboutbirds.org, Small songbirds with fairly slim bodies and short tails. They have a thin, straight bill that is sharply pointed. Adult males are silvery gray with a strong black-and-white face pattern, yellow crown, and large yellow patches on the wings.

Sitting atop a phragmites head, a (male) Common Yellowthroat warbler is facing right, but looking over their shoulder left. Unmistakable yellow throat with olive green back and wings. Their most identifiable feature after their size is the black mask covering their eyes and a thin white line on their eye brow.

From abcbirds.org., The Blackburnian Warbler stands out among warblers for its bright orange and black breeding colors. It's the only warbler with an orange throat, making it relatively easy to distinguish from American Redstart — the only other warbler with orange and black plumage.
