I was dressed appropriately for today's chilly temps, but nothing can really prepare you for the wind tunnel on #NicolletMall especially in front of #IDSCenter. It is so intense and dangerous, they cordon off the front of #CrystalCourt entrance for falling ice careening down at deadly speeds. #mnwx

There are some great shots of #NicolletMall before Target destroyed it in this Flickr feed. The Physicians & Surgeons building, the other quaint street-level buildings and ALL the pedestrians & street-level seating. I'd say the 1990s, before the remodel of Nicollet, was Peak for the street.

Side rant - this (salt, as an indicator of litigiousness) is why we can't have nice things. We want #NicolletMall to be attractive for walking so we salt the f*€k out of it which helps keep it unattractive for walking.

As a Metro Transit driver my concern about moving the busses off the Mall is security We don’t have enough Transit Police already and spreading them out more will not increase safety downtown. I’m sickened by the move the unhoused out of sight approach Minneapolis has taken #NicolletMall #Transit

This fence does not make me feel safe, as a matter of fact as a pedestrian on #NicolletMall it makes me feel extremely unsafe especially with the disasterous snow removal in the city making it much more treacherous to navigate.

Everyone forgets about this fountain on #NicolletMall. It is one of the only remaining operational fountains, and is definitely the most consistently operational fountain, in Downtown #Minneapolis. I don't know if they destroyed it w/new design but used to be brass poetry tiles leading up to it.
