A tawny frogmouth (owl-like bird with grey and brown feathers that look like tree bard) perched on a tree branch looking down at the camera.
More nature in my backyard. Saw a tawny frogmouth sitting in the tree, acting like a branch. So beautiful... even if it may have eaten the tadpoles in my frogpond.

Exactly #notanowl. I've had neighbours dragging me out onto the street in my pyjamas at 9 at night to identify the "owl" on the telephone wires. I have no patience for them.

#NotAnOwl update: #ItsAnOwl! Having this year hosted a family of squirrels and three broods of pigeons 🙄, finally a second visit from a #TawnyOwl
Intriguingly, like last time, it deposited its freshly caught prey in the nest box around 5am, left it there and came back for it at 9pm

As I suspected, the tawny owl only visited the nest box to have a meal. It's likely already set up a nest close by. The nest box is now home to.... 🐿️🙄🤬😅
