#NunsBridges Mute Swans (incl Yellow FF) unfazed to be joined in Little Ouse 14.3°C. Upstream silty & too shady for fish but some groups large Roach & Chub sped downstream. Plenty Signal Crayfish & Common Duckweed. Water Crowfoot at 3rd bridge #WorldRiversDay #BirdsSeenin2021 3/3
Fascinated to find little group of 3 underwater springs bubbling in riverbed of Little Ouse as it flows past @_BTO The Nunnery, upstream of #NunsBridges #Thetford. At 1st thought was some sort of worm, but stuck finger in & it kept right on going.

Plenty of good homes for Bullheads in the River Little Ouse at Thetford. I marvel at how they vary in colour.
A large Pike cruised the shallows downstream of #NunsBridges.
Plenty of Roach, Perch & Chub too.

Downstream of #NunsBridges, Thetford, a lot of algae in the #LittleOuse perhaps due to nutrients from waterfowl collecting to be fed. It's beloved by Three-spined Sticklebacks. In the sandy gaps in the algae, pools of Minnows relaxed in the evening sunshine.
