Great Ellingham One-Place Study.
Image: Photo looking along a village street on a sunny, blue-skied day. On the left is a two-storey, four-bay cottage with white walls and a tiled roof, with further cottages and their gardens further along that side of the street. On the right, part of another building with white walls can be seen in the foreground, with the spire-topped tower of the village church a little further long the street, partially hidden by a couple of trees.

Loved seeing this on our Bluesky feed yesterday after we posted about our Blogging and Social Media Prompt for October, #OnePlaceTimelines! Timelines can be great tools for researching, and presenting info about, #FamilyHistory and #OnePlaceStudies.

I’ve created a timeline for my #OnePlaceStudy of #Sudbourne, it’s the n the home page of my website. It’s especially useful for tracking changes in landowners, who’d have been both landlord & employer to most residents #OnePlaceTimelines

Our blogging prompt for October 2025 is #OnePlaceTimelines. Have you used timelines to highlight gaps in your knowledge, to better understand your #OnePlaceStudy place or its people, or to present OPS information? If not, try out timelines. And do share your experiences! #OnePlaceWednesday
