Elena came to the UK in 1955 and opened a chocolate business. She was one of the first people in the country to import Belgian chocolate. She'd lived there before the war and survived the occupation with the help of the Belgian underground.

Today I found some tapes of interviews my mum Gwen Ford did back in the late 90s early 2000s, she died in 2012 so it was quite lovely to hear her voice and laughter again. Also found a recording of my stepdad Gordon Ford giving a lecture to horticultural students. Wonderful stuff.
