Went for an 30 km #ottbike ride bc the weather forecast this am was ‘rain at 5 pm’. Having coffee and apple pie outside and it starts raining @ 3. We had another 15 km to go. LRT would not shave much off of our weather exposure time. Wet, we arrived home

Another update from my run:
-Mud lake loop is 99.9% snow and ice free and only minimally muddy. I imagine other similarly wooded areas are in like conditions.
-Not many turkeys, they seem to have moved to other parts of town.

Yesterday, running errands in parts of #Ottawa I'm rarely in, reminded me how much I love the Cycling Guide app!
It routed me on low stress pathways and residential streets, and when at my destination near an industrial park, the colour coding told me it was time to hop on the sidewalk.

I'd love to know how many bicycles Decathlon Ottawa sold today. The store was packed with kids trying them out and walking them out. #ottbike
-No longer any path-spanning snow or ice patches (on the main/through path, some side paths do have them still).
-Commute is faster and less stressful being away from drivers, despite being ~15% longer.

TWO River-side commutes today! Only one patch of snow remains, other than a bit left under Champlain Bridge, at the hill between Remic and Carleton.
I can't wait to have a stress-free commute everyday!

I finally switched over to my three-season bike today after fat-biking through the snow all winter. It felt like I had a rocket engine. #ottbike

#ottbike What a great solution for those with balance issues. I once met a woman in the Netherlands who had MS and she was biking (triking?) around the village for all her daily needs: groceries, library, appointments.

My guess is that open spaces are clear of snow by now, but I don’t know about the shaded areas.

-Only TWO path crossing patches of snow between New Orchard and Churchill. A couple smaller piles. Wouldn't be surprised if it's all clear by tomorrow.
-Beyond Churchill looked covered in the treed area but it had that melting look to it.
