We're hosting a roundtable on #misinformation at @ipsosintheuk.bsky.social today.

The event includes a panel discussion on the impact of misinformation.

We'll also be premiering our new film, created with the Ipsos ethnography team, which will be launching publicly next week.

Our goal is to push search engines and AI models to recognise the need for diverse, specialist, UK-focused sources.

We want them to understand this message, reflect it in their results, and ultimately, integrate the collaborative coalition into their algorithms.

PIF, Macmillan and @mariecurieuk.bsky.social have submitted a formal report to Google highlighting our key concerns, supported by real case studies.

We have also raised this with Ofcom.

EIDO Healthcare has a mandate from NHS Wales.

The WRP committee has a requirement for all Welsh health bodies to use EIDO leaflets as part of the consent to treatment process.

Julie says the PIF TICK helps to increase confidence in information.

Julie says the #PIFTick is all about accountability. You need to be able to demonstrate how you have followed the processes.

If someone is suddenly unavailable, it should be possible to pick up a resource and ensure the quality of information remains the same.

She is talking about the practicalities of being a small team with a big content library and how the #PIFTick helps maintain gold standards in #PatientInformation.

Amy's top tips for improving accessibility are:

1. Use simple, clear fonts and styles.
2. Choose simple words.
3. Use words instead of special characters.
4. Describe links.
5. Information should make sense without colour.

Get your foundations right and then build from there.

How well do you know your users? Have you asked them what they need?

What would have the biggest impact?

Who can help you learn more?

The NHS libraries team has been working with public library staff and volunteers to increase their confidence to signpost members of the public to high quality information.

This includes workshops with public library and NHS library staff to refine the PIF TICK directory interface.

In 2018 the NHS Information Standard discontinued. PIF members asked us to step into the gap.

From 10 pilot members we now have nearly 160 certified Trusted Information Creators.
