Someone suggested we remove more generic tags like “philosophy of science" from the #PhilSci feed because they were resulting in less relevant posts entering the feed. I’ve now done this as trial. I can change back if necessary.
So, from now on, the only tags for this feed are:
#philsci
#hps
#PSA24
John DeBrota recommended this Geftner paper in the QBism symposium at #PSA24 last week (the theme was finding an ontology for QBism). I think the challenge is that the enactive view of an agent is embodied in the messy real world vs. the abstract/idealized rational agent of QBism. #philsci
Sorry for delayed #PSA24 post, but I had such a good time presenting my poster. I got a lot of supportive and critical feedback. Really appreciate it. You can find it here!
Just back home after my first #PSA24! I had an amazing time connecting with so many talented people and watching inspiring presentations. I also got great feedback on my paper! Can't wait for the next one in 2026! @philsci.bsky.social

A belated post of @matildecarrera.bsky.social great talk at #PSA24 on "When do data count as evidence? A taxonomy of evidential criteria in human evolution research"
as requested, I’m uploading my poster on modeling indirect reciprocity in the context of agent-based network models from #PSA24
unfortunately when I try to upload the entire poster as a (high-resolution) pic, bluesky makes it grainy. So here is a series of ordered images! 🧵

Three flights and a thirty degree Celsius temperature difference later and I’m back in Scotland after #PSA24 - lots of food for thought!
Do you or any other GB have rough numbers on how many were at #PSA24 (& number presenters) @philsci.bsky.social ?
Pitt made a killing at #PSA24 Bixin Guo who just graduated from HPS won the PSA international syllabus award and Jennifer Jhun who graduated from the department of philosophy won the Ernst Nagel award.
Great session on "Circuits in Neuroscience: Exploring the Brain’s Mesoscale" at #psa24 --talks by Caitlin Mace, Sarah Robins @sarahrobins.bsky.social Tomás Ryan @tjryan.bsky.social and Ross/Woodward. Engram research took center stage, as did questions about circuits as causal systems! 🐁🧠 #psa2024
Great session #psa2024 on "Causality & Explanation in Network Models" talks from Trey Boone @felipedebrigard.bsky.social Chris Pincock & Kostic @lucinauddin.bsky.social & Woodward/Ross. Talks examined the explanatory nature of networks, causal & non-causal explanation, & brain nomenclature! 🧠 #psa24
First time witnessing both laughter and crying at a philosophy conference session; only at the Feyerabend Centennial session #PSA24 with Sandra Mitchell, Paul Hoyningen-Huene and myself.
I'm told that the #PSA24 was the largest ever by any measure: most submissions, presentations, registered, and attendees. It's so heartwarming to see how big, diverse, and interesting our community has become!

One of those times of the year when this becomes particularly salient… #PSA24
A bag of limited edition CheeWees which is a New Orleans brand of cheese curl. This one is a limited edition bag with a mailing Juvenile about to eat a CheeWee on it. Flames are near the bottom of the bag and the flavor is 400 Hot Degreez. A label notes that the cheewees were baked at 400 degreez.
The back of the CheeWees limited edition Juvenile approved 400 Hot Degrees bag implores the consumer to "Back that Cheese up!"
It was a nice #PSA24 and in addition to going to some good talks and chatting with good people, I found my new favorite snack.
thank you, #PSA24 - learned a lot, as always! if anyone is interested in connecting with science of science (veery broadly understood) folks in europe, please join the European Network for the Science of Science mailing list at www.euroscisci.net
Secondly, there is a draft of my work on multilayer networks and the evolution of cooperation, that I presented at both PPE and #PSA24, on the PhilSci archive. I am still working on this project and greatly appreciate any feedback and further ideas!

Had a great time in New Orleans at both PPE and #PSA24! It’s an amazing city and it was great to meet everyone and hear a bunch of interesting work. I am now both mentally and physically exhausted though….
What a wonderful and inspiring community. Thank you to all the presenters and organizers! Leaving my first PSA invigorated and full of ideas... #PSA24
Two graduate students face one another, discussing a poster the title of which is, The transmutation of 'element' in chemical language.
#PSA24 was so full of awesome sessions that a common complaint was, I want to go to 3 or 4 at the same time. Good problem to have! Pic from the poster session, current SFU student talking to former SFU student about her project. Thank you fellow PSAers for such lively discussion and all the hugs

Had an absolutely FANTASTIC time at #PSA24 - so much good philosophy and it has been great to connect with old and new friends and colleagues! Massive congrats to the organisers and thanks to #Assembling_Life and the Science Colloquium for sponsoring my attendance! @philsci.bsky.social
