It's taken forever but at last I've finished writing my blogs on the 360+ mile Great Chalk Way that I walked last spring & summer from Lyme Regis to Holme-next-the-Sea.

Just completed the 362 mile, coast to coast Great Chalk Way in 27 stages. Started at Lyme Regis in Dorset & finished at Holme-next-the-Sea on the North Norfolk Coast #WessexRidgeway #CranborneDrovesWay #SarsenWay #TheRidgeway #IcknieldWay #PeddarsWay What an experience! @ramblersgb.bsky.social
Arriving at the end of the trail
Day 2 on the #peddarsway brought us to the end and the completion of the #Norfolkcoastpath and the whole #trail. More strong northerlies and a few showers felt cool as we walked along the arrow straight #path. A long #hike, but not as long as yesterday - 34 km.
Day 1 of 2 on the #peddarsway from just north of Knettishall Heath (previously walked the missing kms) to Castle Acre brought increasing northerlies and #views along the mostly straight line route. A fair bit of road walking so sore feet now! 36km day wouldnβt have helped with that!
Ha! Funny you should ask. #PeddarsWay next weekend over the bank holiday. Need to convince them to have a presence here on Bluesky.
The River Thet is in spate; good to see it doing its thing, bursting its banks on the Peddars Way at Thorpe - though somewhat inconvenient as it had flooded the board walk a foot deep, necessitating a bit of refreshing, bootless wading.

Ahh! Baby bunnies! In this case, in the apparent absence of any parental guidance, a bit too incautiously (but delightfully) curious about this large bipedal creature on the Peddars Way...

Respect to these old Pedunculate Oaks (Quercus robur) on the Peddars Way.
The Beeches (Fagus sylvatica) are beginning to turn.

On a muggy, blowy evening, wayside plants of the #PeddarsWay: Spear Mint (Mentha pulegium), Common toadflax (Linaria vulgaris), Tansy (Tanacetum vulgare) & ripening Guelder Rose (Viburnum opulus)

A lovely bank of Yarrow on the #PeddarsWay showing no sign of having noticed winter is on its way. Blanket of Hops along the hedgerow by the River Thet at Shadwell - lovely (but too much of a good thing for my garden!). Buckthorn berries too. #Norfolk
Winter thrushes back again in force along the #PeddarsWay with plenty of haws to keep them happy. Spindle at peak gorgeous. Blackberries long gone. Some Beech mast in #ThorpeWoodlands. #Norfolk
