The painting depicts the heads of two young women facing each other. Both have brown hair and are shown against a blue background. Both are wearing clothing with pronounced fabric creases. The clothing of the one on the right is brown. The pale crescent of the moon is immediately behind the head of the woman on the left in the painting. The young woman standing in front of the painting (but not obscuring it) also has brown hair. She seems to be of a similar age to the two in the painting. Like them, her jacket has prominent creases on it. It is brown, matching the colour of the clothing of one of them. Her face is seen in profile, as are both the women in the painting. The woman outside the painting has a pale, bright earring, which alludes to the moon in the painting. The background to the photograph is also blue. The photograph is titled ‘People Matching Artworks’.
