A2: I took a flyer on a ratty looking leather box (they clearly couldn’t get it open) from goodwill. Thought it might be a good restoration project. Until I opened it and it was like new inside! 😅😅 And tiny and light! ~1906(??) Kodak Pony Premo #4

#photochat A4: i would go to Patagonia. It has been my dream to see that place for decades. It's so photogenic and the experience would be amazing.

A2. Oh yes (See Q3 for the reason). Have a 1960s stereo camera to try, my first 35mm folder, the Proud Chrome Six III folder (and re-cover it), some expired film, experiments with light leaks, and I need to set up my portable glitch video gear (and circuit bend another shitty digicam).

A3. From the New Year until a couple of weeks ago we've had nothing but storms and rain. It's getting better now but I'm actually 'champing at the bit' to get out. I've picked up a fair few cameras that need a work out.

A4. Well, I've always fancied seeing the cherry blossoms in Tokyo at this time of year. I think that would be my choice. #Photochat

A1. Not really. I do like to get out into the woods behind our house (My 'walk around the block') when the new ferns start to grow for a little infrared photography, but I'll do that most of the year anyway. #Photochat

Thanks to everyone who participated in our Spring Edition #photochat - as always your participation and sharing is appreciated. Also, even though this month's photochat is over feel free to add your comments to any of the questions or posts. The more the better!

A4 I suppose I could travel to the other hemisphere where it is spring. In that case, I'd go to Berlin because I live being there and it's so photogenic.
I'd visit the countryside too and practice using the language, talking to folks and making photographs.

A3 The nicer weather for me is actually winter here because we get clouds and early dark. The heat here keeps me inside more.

My photography classes keep me motivated at the moment. I love coming up with an idea and message I want to share and then thinking about how to say it visually.

A2 It's not spring here but next month, when I'm on break from my photography classes, I want to revisit the industrial area and build on the images I have for the dismantling of the coal power station there.

I'm using images from my recent visits for my final series, due next week.

In spring I love to visit the bushland around Perth and go orchid-hunting. We have many endemic native orchids here and they are very small and quite elusive.
You very much need a macro lens to capture them in any detail. 🪷

A4: #photochat I’d go back to Hong Kong for a few weeks, then travel to Bangkok for a few days. After that I would head to Paris for a week & then a week in London. Before heading home I’d spend a few days in NYC.

Any European city / town. I would avoid capitals. Just drift on a road trip, follow my nose for a month or two. How long is spring? 🤣 @paulasmith.co.uk suggested Ireland for the same .... so I stole the idea from her. 😄

This #FP4party has helped. I will be out in the morning and over the next days, hoping to get some interesting imagery in sparkling light. 🤞

No.
I have equipment ......
I want to find some new aspects / viewpoints / subjects ..... and not repeat a previous year.

I do not do any spring project or particular themed stuff.
However .... some days give a special light. The trees are not yet in leaf, so woods and forest floors have not yet become impenetrably dark. People are also out, less overcoats - perhaps sitting at pavement cafés.

A4: I would love to do a road trip around Ireland. I’ve spent time in the North but never really explored the rest.

A3: A good photowalk with a camera I haven’t used in awhile, or a little used focal length. In Feb I did a roll of 35mm colour as a double exposure. That’s always fun.

A4: I would probably travel down the eastern seaboard to visit shore towns in various states of gearing up. Here in FL, for example, tourists are legion. On the Outer Banks or in Myrtle Beach, I think that’s a lot less true, and on the Jersey Shore we’ve been dealing with snow. #PhotoChat

A2: I just fixed a Kodak Medalist and hope to put it through its paces. Shot two rolls here in Florida which I’ll develop next week when I get home to NJ; hopefully it works. Also need to put some film through the Pentax 17 I bought to replace the one I lost. #PhotoChat

A1: My long running project about life in resort towns in th off season applies to spring. Spring has a different feel than autumn, when things wind down, and winter, when the shore towns I live near hibernate. Spring has the first signs of life. #PhotoChat

Q4: I’d probably take a quick trip down to South Texas RIGHT NOW because it is wildflower season there, and I miss the bluebonnets and Indian paintbrushes and winecups and evening primroses. Fields of flowers against big blue skies always make lovely photos. #photochat

A4: #photochat Tulip season in Amsterdam. Why? Tulips in all their colours and varieties are the quintessential flower associated with Holland. It's a riotous display of colour that rivals my local Cherry Blossom explosion in April.

A2. I’m waiting for some transfer film to arrive so I can make digital negatives. I’m soon to try out my own cyanotypes for first time.

A3: #photochat I just want to be out in the sunlight (that has finally arrived in the UK) so I just go out and drag a camera along with me

A1: Besides the annual photo walk of cherry blossom, not really. #photochat

I will generally end up taking more photos because golden hour coincides with my work commute though.
