The story weaves back and forth between Saisio’s memories of her childhood and the shock of the death of her father. Ja ennen vajoamistaan valoisaan uneen ehti loseb ajatella, että hänen oma elämänsä on tämä siperialainen tie, jossa menneisyys jää taakse hänen silmiensä edessä, katoaa puiden hämärään, loivan mäen toiselle puolelle, mutkan taakse, häviäa kauniina sittenkin, surullisena.
