The Center and allies today voluntarily dismissed their lawsuit challenging a logging operation in the #PisgahNationalForest in #NorthCarolina.
We filed a lawsuit last month to halt the #logging, and days later the U.S. Forest Service cancelled the logging and the logging equipment was withdrawn.

A long range view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The immediate foreground is composed of subtle red, orange, and yellow hues as Spring hasn't fully taken over yet at this elevation. A spindly, leafless tree frames the left edge and a single dark pine tree punctuates the bottom edge, just right of center. Beyond that a vast, rolling mountain landscape densely blanketed in trees. Nearest are a bright yellow-green that transition to a rich, deep green from shadows cast by overhead cloud cover. Farther out, clouds give way to sun and the subtle haze that contributes to the blue color shift these mountains are known for transition this area to a light green-blue. In this section of the range, several dark grey, sheer rock faces adorn mountainsides. Each significant in their own rite but small from this perspective. Beyond all of that a tall, blue ridgeline backs the scene, almost imperceptible as mountains as it appears more like a blue sky. The actual sky above is a row of thick, white clouds. And finally along the top edge of the frame, dark clouds loom, reflecting soft purple hues above the landscape.
It wasn't until a couple days after I took this I realized the landscape had given me a subtle but almost perfect rainbow gradient from bottom to top. These #mountains are full of magic.
