Our new study using #PlanetYouth surveys in over 4,000 teens aged 15-16 shows that the following factors were cross-sectionally associated with poorer mental health:

📱📺 Heavy screen use (4+ hrs/day)
🪞 Poor body image
🤳 Sexting behaviours

Using #PlanetYouth data, we examined differences in social behaviours in teenagers (social media, screen time, sexting, body dissatisfaction) to understand why rates of psychopathology are so much higher in girls than boys
