Here are some more close up photos. Looks like there are a few small leaves, bark, maybe moss.

Cladophlebis, both the primary side and negative side, with the negative revealing a further layer of Taeniopteris, and what is probably Phyllotheca

Couldn’t find the tape measure, hence the fingers for context

I’m really not sure what this is, could be an early cycadophyte, nonetheless it’s one of my favourite finds. The details are sensational.

Probably a Dicroidium branch segment, collected it as I like the orange oxide preservation

Phyllotheca leading growth segments - unknown as to whether these mature into Strobili, or the support the leafy part of the plant.

A number of specimens that have since weathered away, the single long orange leaf is Taeniopteris. The one that looks like Monstera, and the third branch segment, with leaves, no idea.

Not sure what this is, I’ve found a few, perhaps a Cycadophyte?
I really don’t know…

The two sides - A massive boulder that fell of a cliff, revealing some leaf fossils.

Collected the much smaller side :p

Interesting specimen, number of different leaves, one broad leaved Taeniopteris at left, and what I suspect are Heidiphyllum at centre, which is preserved perfectly.

Some further close ups of the specimen, showing the fossilised roots, and section of trunk with, what appears to be, a Cylomeia leaf association #plantfossil #fossil

All from the same specimen, dicroidium fragment, a decayed / frayed taeniopteris leaf, and a trunk and root ball of either Cylomeia or Phyllotheca, small leaf fragments attached to the trunk suggest the former

Dicroidium leaf with cuticle layer intact. The shale is quite dark, so contrast is not high, but does show well in the right light.

One of the most complete Dicroidium specimens in my collection

Probably #cladophlebis

Good branch, stem, leaf association in this example.

These were large plants.

The reverse of the earlier post, featuring a full Dicroidium leaf, further restoration includes the joining stem of both sides of the Dicroidium branch.

Too much effort to move out the cabinet to rephotograph 🤣

Large cross section featuring a wide range of Dicroidium forms.

The reverse of top half of the onsite pic features a full Dicroidium leaf which I will post separately.

What is in studio is the bottom half of the onsite.

Now in the Australian Museum collection.
