Until you came into my life and let me breathe.
My whole life was lifeless to the touch,
A silent ache, a missing clutch.
Then you stepped in, shining bright,
And painted colour in my black and white.

The Moon Like the rest of my life, the moon has sped up on me. I remember as a child that it seemed to take many months for the cycles to transform from full to new moon and back again. That full moon seemed to last for a week. Now… one night it’s full, the next night it’s quarter. The cycle seems to take a few days to come and go. I had completely forgotten to live in the moment. And not just at night but dragging the day into it, too. Since then, I watch that shifty moon like a hawk. No more tricks, Ms. Moon, I’m watching now. I’ve been able to slow her progress over the months. But a few cloudy nights and there she goes again… My internal calendar will never return to its childlike glory, but maybe I’ve slowed down time for me. Definitely I understand how much more rapidly it’s passing by. -JSC
