Memorial ledger slab on the floor of the Abbey. It contains a central cartouche of dark purple red porphyry inscribed ‘Robert Browning, May 7 1812, Dec 12 1889’. This is set into a border of yellow Siena marble with an outer, thin border of white marble. An inscription at the bottom of the memorial, set into the yellow marble reads ‘his wife Elizabeth Barrett Browning is buried in Florence 1806 - 1861’.
