On the bicentenary of this event in 2004, a memorial was erected at Possil Marsh close to the location where it landed (left hand photo). It's one of only two meteorite memorials in the UK (with the other being on Yorkshire).

In April 1804, a meteorite landed at High Possil in Glasgow. This was the first one ever recorded in Scotland, and one of the first to be scientifically verified as coming from space anywhere in the world.
