The sheetrock on the ceiling is next.
I should be able to start building the new section of the layout early next month. I can't wait to get back to work on it.

“Chuggin’ ‘round the tree on Christmas Day
Can’t you hear that Lionel train?”
Got my tree (and most importantly, my train) set up today! Still needs ornaments and such, but it’s already looking good.
Happy Lionel Train Day!

Lionel No. 1464W 3-Car Pullman set, headed by twin 2023 Union Pacific Alco FAs in silver.
A Lionel freight train headed by 2025 Lionel Lines Santa Fe-style 4-6-4 Hudson.
A pair of Lionel 2343 Santa Fe F3 diesels.
A Lionel 145 Operating Gateman accessory.
It’s kind of nuts just how much prices for non-mint postwar Lionel have fallen in recent years. A decade ago I could have never imagined picking these up at the prices I have. They’re a great value if you learn how to fix ‘em.

The Lionel 6468 Baltimore & Ohio Automobile car in blue, with two sets of doors to accommodate loading in automobiles.
The Lionel 445 Switch Tower. Two little men are stationed here. When a train approaches one retreats from the deck into the building, and another descends the stairs to observe the train.
Lastly, here’s a couple quick pics so you can get a better look! I’m very happy with my haul this time. I didn’t get a lot of things, but what I got was very good. :)

In addition, I also picked up another fun operating accessory, the 445 Switch Tower, and also that classy blue 6468 B&O Automobile Car that you may have noticed in the consist!

I still can’t believe the deal I managed to get on this. It absolutely lives up to its reputation as “The Growler”. Those twin motors have a very distinct snarl that really compliments the engine’s power!

Introducing the biggest, flashiest, and most powerful postwar engine in my collection: Lionel’s legendary 2343 Santa Fe F3 A-A from 1950! One of the most iconic and celebrated toy trains of all time!

I just love these Alco FAs. Someday I’d like to see if I can get the horn working again. :)

My shiny silver streamliner set No. 1464w from 1951! This set was also available in 1950 in yellow and gray, and 1952-53 without gray roofs and with the engines renumbered to 2033.
