Today I celebrated with a mom to be, expecting her first baby and was able to give her these gifts as part of that celebration. I love making things for babies lol. And the joy this little one is bringing its family is so wonderful to see. #quiltsky #sewing

A vertical section of quilt made up of 8 scrappy blocks in pairs, sewn together with dark charcoal border fabric is laid out covering an ironing board. Strips of border fabric 4 blocks tall are laid out and pinned on the left and right sides of this section. 7 of the blocks are made of random sized green scraps of fabric, in prints such as Luigi and Toad, ladybugs & leaves, batik leaves, solids, dots. While the 3rd block down on the left is turquoise scraps of space invaders, and butterflies.

And I'm just now realizing I have half as much fabric left for the long vertical border pieces as I need. Fuck. Slight miscalculation somewhere...
I'll blame brain fog.
Maybe I can use a different fabric and alternate...

I made my own spin on the Misted Pines quilt! Such a beautiful pattern. Getting a variety pack of Stonehenge fabrics really made the blending work. #quiltsky

Using two unrelated rolls of 2.5 inch precut strips and a stack of fat quarter neutrals for ‘curvy’log cabin quilt blocks. Selecting the strips at random, only house rule is no two of the same per block. Completing piecing in batches of 10 blocks. #quiltsky #scrappy

Quilts on quilt wall. Sunflowers for Ukraine plus 4 freedoms I cherish. Family, friends, faith and freedom.

Family and Friends. There are buttons on each of these. At the top of Family are bugs. Lots of bugs. I should have added nuts. There’s a skunk in the camp ground scene that is a reminder of one of many campouts with my kids. The Friends quilt was the first and came as a kit. The others were all using scraps from my fabric stash. Each quilt is about 14” square.

Faith is very important to me. There are flowers growing in each little quilt and each quilt has either 1 or 2 gnomes. Freedom gives us rights to make the choices we have such as who our friends are, whether to have families or not and how or what we worship.

I’m having guests for lunch tomorrow. Some are maggots. I just rehung some quilts on my quilt wall. Really doubt they’ll get the subliminal message. More info in the alt text . #quilts #quiltsky

I don't remember if I ever shared these here, but these are the quilts I made for my niece and nephew! I am so proud of the fact that I was able to make baby quilts 🥺 I still have to make one more for my newest nephew ❤️

My first attempt at a LeMoyne star for the quilt I'm making. I'm not all that pleased. I wonder id I should be pressing with dry iron instead of steam iron. I think things are shrinking. I don't have extra of some of the fabrics, so not sure what to do next. #MenWhoQuilt #QuiltSky #quilting
