I think that silent scenes where a character is in their head can be extremely effective. I don’t like it if they happen too often, but at the right moment? It can be very powerful.

Arlise has an earned a ton of scars over the course of her life. Most notable of all is a burn on the left side of her face and neck from a battle with a skinstealer.

As for other marks, she also has 187 little triangles tattooed around her arms and thighs.
