Year 3 have been learning about the importance of advent for Christians. We explored and made our own Christingle. We then took this with us to our local Church. Thank you Fr Lee for helping us learn more about the meaning of Chistingle. 🍊🕯️

Year 3 explored why Jesus’ death might be important to Christians because of what happened at and after the Last Supper. We put ourselves in the shoes of Jesus, Judas and the other disciples. We discussed why we thought Jesus didn’t run away and what we would do in that situation.

Key Stage 2 took part in an assembly all about the upcoming Diwali festival. We shared the story of Rama and Sita and some of our wonderful children talked about how they celebrate and traditions in their households. We wish all our families who are celebrating a very Happy Diwali! #REatWelbeck

Year 3 continued to explore whether forgiveness is always possible for Christians by retelling a Bible story where Jesus forgave someone—the story of the crucifixion. ✝️ We used drama respectfully to help us retell the story and understand different perspectives on forgiveness.

Year 3 continued to explore whether Jesus really performed miracles by acting out a play based on the Bible stories of Jesus healing the leper, blind man and paralysed man. We discussed whether we thought these were miracles and why different people might have different views. ✝️

This week nursery have been learning about The Easter Story. We made the most of the beautiful sunny weather and took a walk to the church and buttered hot cross buns while we learnt about Jesus, baby animals and new beginnings. #EYFSatWelbeck #REatWelbeck 🐣⛪️

Year 1 are looking at Christianity and Jesus rising again this half term. Our first lesson linked our learning to our own lives. We talked about the different seasons of the year and what each one represents. We then focused on spring and how it brings new life. 🌸✝️ #REatWelbeck

Our annual Pancake day assembly was a fun start to our week. We talked about the similarities between Lent and Ramadan and wished all those celebrating these festivals well #REatWelbeck

Year 3 enjoyed a lively RE lesson, debating whether they prefer to do work on their own or with others and coming up with reasons for each side. We then applied this to explain why some Muslims might want to pray in a Mosque. 🕌

Year 3 have been getting active in RE. We discussed how making a regular commitment to something (such as exercise or prayer) can increase its effectiveness. We made a commitment to pause our lesson regularly to exercise together!
