Photograph taken at RHS Harlow Carr, Harrogate in May using a monochrome filter. Six doric columns stand equidistant on a raised terrace reached by four wide steps. The area is surrounded by trees starting to come into leaf and sizeable shrubs. The steps are guarded by a pair of stone lions. The columns came from the Pump Room in Cheltenham built in the early C19th and have been sited at Harlow Carr since 1961. It's a beautiful garden to visit and the arboretum is particularly lovely.

A greenhouse filled with pots of chillies, peppers, tomatoes, and marigolds. A large pot contains a sweet potato plant, the vines are climbing up a metal obelisk.
Enjoyed a glorious day out at RHS Harlow Carr on Friday. I definitely need to add more late summer colour in my own garden.
(I've been trying to do this for a couple of years – but most of my new 'late summer' plants peaked early in the hot dry weather!)
