Remembering Joey Molland who passed away yesterday. Despite the ugly and tragic backstory behind Badfinger they left behind some amazing music and Joey did write some of my favorites (on Straight Up, their arguable finest album). This is the second of two comeback albums featuring Molland and founding member Tom Evans (co-writer with Tom Ham of their classic hit "Without You"). A solid slice of early 80s new wavy power pop.

I am saddened by the news that #Badfinger guitarist & songwriter #JoeyMolland has passed away. I had the privilege of seeing him perform live in 2024 during the Happy Together tour. He was such a talented performer & he will be greatly missed. #RIPJoeyMolland

Gisteren is Joey Molland overleden. Joey was het laatst overgebleven lid van de oorspronkelijke bezetting van Badfinger. Joey was er ook al bij toen de band zich nog the Iveys noemde. Met ‘Maybe Tomorrow’ stond die groep in 1969 in de Top40. Joey werd 77 jaar. #RipJoeyMolland

RIP Joey Molland of Badfinger. He was the last surviving member of the original line up and kept those songs alive for many years after the others had passed. Straight Up is an amazing album, every song is great.
