Grass picking & layering the blades on their partner is the most Hex thing ever omg! Obviously that means Thancred is the recipient, though I imagine him telling her to try to leave some grass still in the ground followed by teasing her by “gifting” her a single blade of grass back.

Neither of them would be crying over it, though they do start off passive aggressively arguing over who’s changing the tire (if it’s early game Hex, she’s winging it, but by the time her & Thancred become a ship, she does know how).⤵️

I had brainworms for a bit about #Rainwaters post Grand Melee because I thought writing would be the best way to tell it, but it’s on pause for now until the word worms return.

After Falcon’s Nest, Hex becomes a lot more guarded about her food from others, but after Thancred swigs her drink post-Grand Melee (this also nbd to him due to childhood in the streets & need to for infiltration) she finds he’s someone she can still comfortably share food/drink with.⤵️

When Hex wants attention from Thancred, she’ll nudge him. Head, hand, etc. It’d be pretty subtle if she was a more physical person, but since she isn’t, it’s kind of noticeable to those that pay attention & know her.

When she wakes up in Thancred’s arms, she has a panic attack & Thancred picks up on this. ( #Rainwaters )

As a result, after Grand Melee, when everyone’s celebrating with drinks, Aymeric hands Hex a drink, but she just cautiously holds it, not drinking.⤵️

#Rainwaters - It switches up. Sometimes the blue is Thancred, sometimes it’s Hex. They both jump into some pretty crazy stuff the other gets concerned about.

Hex was jealous when Thancred kept disappearing with Hilda (before she learned Thancred‘s not Hilda’s type). It wasn’t directed at Hilda, just Thancred avoiding her.

Thancred swung between discomfort seeing Hex around Aymeric (partly why he was distancing, not all of it’s ship reasons)⤵️

I too am a Tyrant liker, but unfortunately, #Rainwaters is just Thancred watching Hex’s Arcadion fight (& the obvious edits) in a bar, saying ‘Good luck man’.

The only cheating Thancred knows is happening (if you count this) is him & Urianger winning big at the bar’s betting pool over Hex’s fight.

Long before #Rainwaters (& not really shippy sry!), when Minfilia sent them to investigate Ifrit, Hex & Thancred pretend to be a newly married couple. This of course causes them to be given only one bed at Camp Drybone, because "why wouldn't a married couple?"

Hex, still not used to covering up or⤵️

I mean #Rainwaters is practically canon to me, so take that as you will.

The scavenger hunt seemed a little silly for Hex, with everything that just happened & was to come, but she didn’t mind it, being stuck in downtime while the Forum prepared, & she didn’t mind this kind of puzzle either.

#Rainwaters - I consider Ariel to be one of the princesses Hex is most similar to: collecting things from outside, wanting to leave home, & ofc seeing a man on the surface/outside that she falls for. So yeah, Hex obviously the mermaid & Thancred the sailor she wishes to be with.

Both Hex & Thancred are obviously the self-sacrificing types. Thancred would then probably try to burn himself down if Hex died.

For either ship, when/if the other died, Hex does/would try to keep their memories alive.
