Like most of these beasts, it gave us a bit of a startle to let us know it was present. No real interest in harming us. Chilled out after a bit and left.

A western diamondback rattlesnake is stretching, sunning itself, completely across the dirt pathway. Only truly visible part is the black-white striped tail.
