At #Readercon I was on a fantastic panel about the Undeath of the Author: How much of the story does the author "own" once it's published? The conversation had nothing to do with AI, was more focused on an essay author fan interactions. However the basic implications of had a clear connect to AI.

🧵 I love connecting with others--that's the best part of #Readercon . The downside of this hotel was no common outside area where everyone congregated. There were 2 obvious patios + a stealth deck + a hidden patio. Some folx never found all 4! (hi @wiswell.bsky.social !)

A great ReaderCon this year! Amazing panels & discussions. Great hallway conversations. Fantastic authors & editors. The Karaoke party was pretty rad too, from what I heard. Great to reconnect with friends. Sorry if I missed you. We'll get another chance next year.

This is a very important thing said on the #Readercon panel, Harry Potter and the Undeath of the Author! The author isn't required to write what you want them to write, but if an author's actions disappoint you, you're allowed to grieve the image of them you cultivated in your mind.
