In December in Thailand, I observed this Red Avadavat kept flying back & forth collecting nesting materials.

"The Red Avadavat (Amandava), also known as the strawberry finch or red munia, is a small, sparrow-sized bird from tropical Asia, famous for the male's bright red breeding plumage covered in white spots, resembling a strawberry. These social birds live in flocks in grasslands and wetlands, feeding on grass seeds, and are popular in the pet trade, leading to introductions in places like Hawaii. Females are duller, mostly gray, with a red beak, while males become less red outside the breeding season."
