Remains of Lock 12 with its 17 ft wide, 170 ft long mechanism of elevating or dropping boats 9 ft. Shot from within the lock at one end, rough stone blocks rising 10-12 ft run along each side of the image, while the middle is full of mud, rocks and overgrowth. A small bridge connects the top sides of the lock in the distance. The background comprises tall trees with some blue/white sky peeking through.

Shot from above what used to be the millstream downstream of a long since obsolete sawmill. From top to bottom runs a very brown/orange bottomed stream, strewn with rocks and water running along it, reflecting the sky above the tree canopy in places. Thick tree and branch cover lines either side.

Above the Lock 12 area lies Anderson's run, where this image shows the rough stone wall of the remnants of one of the lime kilns on the site. The wall is full height in the left foreground, heading to the image center, the rough rocks thick with mosses. A path runs centrally from bottom to top, bordered by a wooden fence line to its right

Looking down through the top of one of the Anderson Run lime kilns. A wide circular opening, with a thin steel reinforcement mesh guard. The rough stone walls descend 20 ft or so into darkness and foliage.

Few more images from the weekend, this set focusing on what used to be Lock 12 on the Susquehanna and Tidewater Canal, which used to parallel the river for 40 miles but became obsolete in the 1890s.
