Today's sunshine has opened up the orange tulips outside my studio window..... #Rothbury #Northumberland #Easter
Yesterday I collected the very first copies of my new "Puffins and Dandelions" print.
So today I'll be mounting up a couple, ready for Easter. #Northumberland #Rothbury #holiday #puffins
A narrow stone passageway going under the official footpath. Just wide enough for one person, stone built
A clear path alongside a stone wall in woodland. It peters out into a number of small tracks later, I will explore further sometime.
It's amazing what you find just a few metres off the path.

Today's a day for signing, mounting and bagging prints.
The light isn't suitable for painting today. Even with "daylight" overhead lighting and a "daylight" lamp, the ambient light remains too cold and blue for painting anything other than snow. #Rothbury #Northumberland #Artist #challenge
After a wonderful Christmas break, I am back in the studio with paint brushes in hand and fresh ideas ready to flow. The recent snow has filled my sketchbooks with winter light and quiet scenes, and I cannot wait to turn them into new paintings. #Rothbury #NewYear #Creativity #Snow #Northumberland
I've packed up my much loved suitcase train , made by @suitcasetrains.bsky.social and augmented by me. It's always a sad day taking down the Christmas window display! #Rothbury #Northumberland #NewYear
Crown Studio Gallery's window display train has had some maintenance work and is now running smoothly again.
And after this morning's dusting of snow, my layout looks more accurate than ever! #Rothbury #Northumberland
A bright orange disk looks like the sun, but in a dark sky. Below are snow covered hills, but only a light dusting.
This is the moon setting as the sun was rising, taken from my back door this morning. It did not look so bright and sun-like in real life, but like a red moon.

An uprooted tree in the middle of the river. This crosses a line of standing waves caused by the submerged stepping stones.
When the water goes down there'll be a tree stuck in the stepping stones.

Anyone else need anything before I trot off to the Post Office?! Christmas cards, paintings, prints, mugs, stocking filler ceramic birds, fridge magnets? Anything?? #Northumberland #Rothbury
The river in Rothbury is the highest I've seen it since early spring. These waves are caused by stepping stones that are well submerged.
Rothbury Bridge is only a couple of hundred metres away so the frequent winter periods when they are submerged are not a […]

This afternoon I was surprised and gratified when someone wanted to buy my skull window display!
As it's a collection of objects from my studio just cobbled together with masking tape, it's never been intended as a permanent piece. But it's great that it looks good enough to be desirable. #Rothbury
Stepping stones covered by white foaming water.
A view across moorland to the Simonside hills
The rain from earlier this week has left the Coquet high, but today is lovely and sunny. Ideal for a morning walk.

Selfie as I climb up from the disused railway line. Behind me a steep slope and in the distance forest covered hills
A view from. The access land, the village of Rothbury in the valley past bracken coloured hills and brown fields
A map showing access land above a footpath in a disused rail cutting.
There's a patch of Access Land to the south east of Rothbury. The path up to it used to have white birch railings, but these fell down a year ago. The path has now become quite overgrown to the point where an unofficial path about 100 metres further along the […]
