The external cab and radiator area of the routemaster, a small hole has been drilled into the radiator grille to allow a piercing saw to be used to cut out the moulded grille, following the red line, to allow replacement with a photo etched part

We lived in Ilford (now London Borough of Redbridge) in my childhood. The buses had a stopping/rest point and a driver's office in our road, so there was usually a bus parked right outside our door.

We see the side of a red double decker bus. Its lower panels have been removed, and new bare aluminium sheets are resting against its side ready to be attached.

Our London #Routemaster RM1414 came to us because it was demonstrated in Manchester when it was new - the city didn't buy any. After many years of faithful service, 1414 is now having a light overhaul so it won't be out and about for a while. Thank you to our volunteers who are doing the work.

A bright red Routemaster bus is driving towards the left of the camera. It has a yellow strip between the lower and upper floors. It is bus number RT 2150 with registration number KGK 959. Its route information is displayed in white letters on black backgrounds. The route number is 252, the destination is Collier Row, and the route summary reads "Hornchurch Station, Airfield Way, Elm Pk, Roneo Cnr, Romford, Mawney Road".

A close up of the panels comprising the conductors area with decals fitted, there is one glaring error that would render the bus illegal for use!
A good couple of days on the #routemaster seats fitted, panels for the conductors area completed. The inner geek (aka professional bus driver) has spotted one error that would prevent the bus being legal for use. Sadly I can’t do much about it in this case 🤣

The #routemaster is progressing slowly, all lower deck seats made and half have the decals applied, they look very realistic. Next jobs, finish the seats and fix, then start on the back section.

So the #routemaster is benched, I have been asked to do a dio for one of the authors of the book detailing the last flight of a 617 sqn Lanc.
The difficulty is that it is a tallboy Lanc and kits are few and far between, still I have found one! I also have a tallboy so result 🤣
