Looking back at my original #RS500 posts about Radiohead, the lower an album was ranked, the more I liked it. So I could have loved this one for getting the boot, but no I hated it almost as much as their top ranked Kid A. Fave song: You & Whose Army | Let Go

Good vibes! Manu Chao was my biggest discovery from the original #RS500 project and this was another delight. In fact, the reuse of riddims make it feels very much like an extension of Clandestino, if not quite as special. Fave song: Me Gustas Tu | LET ON

New year, new music project! Last year it was #RS500, live tweeting the Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. Now I'm taking on the #RS500castoffs: 192 discs that got cut after appearing on the list in 2003 and/or 2012. I'll give my thoughts about each one then vote to REJECT or RESTORE it

All year I've been wondering how listening to the #RS500 would affect my Wrapped and it turns out all it does is make it even more boring than it would have been, inserting two artists with more albums than anyone else on the list -- The Beatles and freakin' Kanye -- into the top 5.

The album “The Weight Of These Wings” by Miranda Lambert that was released in 2016.
#RS500 480. There’s some solid country vibes here and there’s some schlocky crap. But the main issue I had with this album is that Lambert sings in a cartoon voice. I kept picturing her as a cartoon cat flashing her lashes at the cartoon dog while she’s up on stage in some Disney animated movie.

The album “If You’re Feeling Sinister” by the band Belle and Sebastian that was released in 1996
#RS500 481. Struggling through some of these albums and this one is the first where I really question the inclusion. I get that people love B&S and their vibe is pretty chill, which I usually dig. This is just boring and it’s mostly Stuart Murdoch. I like them so much more when he’s not singing.

The album “Bizarre Ride II The Pharcyde by the group The Pharcyde that was released in 1992
#RS500 482. Never listened to The Pharcyde for some reason but this album is right in line with all the other jazz-based hip-hop that came out in the early 90s. This group was having a lot of fun and you can feel that energy in the record. It wasn’t amazing, for me, but I enjoyed my time with it.
