Bettendorf, IA Run With Carl was established in 1994, while I am not sure when we first started participating in this event, it's one we continue to keep on our race calendar. You can read more about the history here: The 2025 event was not any different that the most recent years. It falls on Labor Day which for us (my husband and I,) means that we get a day to relax from the first home Iowa football game before an early race morning.

The Hoover Prairie run 5k is not a new race for me, in fact you may have read a previous recap. I enjoy this event, and I believe I have participated every year it has existed.
