On #RuralHealthDay, I’m sounding the alarm: Republican health care cuts hit rural Nevada the hardest. Providers across my 50,000 square-mile district told me directly: these cuts mean fewer nurses, fewer hospitals, diminished care, and longer distances to get treatment.
On #RuralHealthDay, we recognize the vital role rural providers play in keeping our communities healthy. Everyone deserves access to quality health care—no matter where they live. That’s why I will always stand against cuts to #Medicaid that would devastate rural hospitals in states like #Louisiana.
Today is #RuralHealthDay, a chance to reaffirm our commitment to filling health care gaps in rural communities.
Yet the Trump Administration and Congressional Republicans have only made it harder for rural patients to access care and rural providers to keep their doors open.
#RuralHealthDay is a reminder that everyone deserves reliable health care regardless of zip code. We're committed to investing in health for all Michiganders, so we can foster healthy communities today, tomorrow and for generations to come.

Every single community in America should be free from gun violence. #RuralHealthDay
Rural communities face unique challenges:
🌾 Suicide rates are nearly double those in urban areas
🌾 65% of rural counties lack a single psychiatrist
🌾 Over half of rural counties lack social workers
This #RuralHealthDay, let’s work for access to care and safe gun storage.
Today is Rural Health Day, a day to recognize the health disparities and challenges in rural America. Suicide rates are nearly twice as high in rural communities than their urban counterparts (CDC). Suicide is preventable, and safe storage of firearms is one way to mitigate suicide risk.
Firearms are used in over 50% of suicides. In rural areas, where access to mental health care is limited, the impact is devastating. On #RuralHealthDay, we’re advocating for stronger mental health resources and responsible gun storage. #SafeStorageSavesLives

I spent 8 years living and working at a Critical Access Hospital inside the Navajo Nation #ruralhealthday is an opportunity to raise awareness that many people do not have access to care. If you do it is a privilege . It should be a human right
Access to care is vital, no matter where you live. On #RuralHealthDay, we’re raising awareness for people with Parkinson’s disease who live in rural areas. Out of the 660 movement disorder specialists in the U.S., less than 10 currently practice in rural areas.
