OMG I'm trying to write this essay about the #SFinTranslation site ahead of its 10 year anniversary (in May) and every little data point sends me down this fascinating rabbit hole! This essay will never get done at this rate!!!!!

Going to dedicate part of an issue of the new #SFinTranslation magazine at some point to Haikasoru so that we can all reminisce about what a wonderful resource it was for excellent Japanese SFT.

Most #SFinTranslation each year (for the past few years) is published by @ndbooks.bsky.social. The last few #SFinTranslation anthologies have come from @twolinespress.com.

Neither is a "genre fiction" publisher.

It is fascinating to see that, in fact, a few of the works on this list have been translated and published in English since 2010, including TYPESCRIPT OF THE SECOND ORIGIN and MOUNTAINS, SEAS, AND GIANTS

I'm done with this whole "lost in translation" nonsense. A good translation adds something beautiful to this world. It fills a space in world literature with a new version of a text that more people can now read.
