Happy New Year! A great way to show the potential for 2025 is with this photo we got during the Christmas Bird Count. An immature Bald Eagle, symbolizing the rebirth we want to see in the Nose Creek valley for many years. #SaveNoseCreek #SNCbirds #yyc #RockyViewCounty #Airdrie

One of our Creek-Heads captured this stunning photo of a Great Horned Owl while they were out swishing through the snow in the Birth Forest of West Nose Creek Park (Formally Confluence Park). #SaveNoseCreek #SNCbirds #yyc #RockyViewCounty #Airdrie

HOO’s HOO in the Nose Creek Valley? This Northern Saw Whet Owl doesn’t give a HOOT about this wintery weekend. #SaveNoseCreek #SNCbirds #yyc #RockyViewCounty #Airdrie #yyccc #abpoli #cdnpoli
Watch for "micro" diurnal migrations of Canadian Geese through the winter months along Nose Creek. In the morning they head out to the crop fields outside the city to forage for food. In the evening come back to the open water of the Bow and Elbow Rivers. #SaveNoseCreek #SNCbirds
More shots of our Trumpeter Swan visitor rolling in from other Creek-Heads! That is Stoney Trail in the background… one of the reasons we are trying to put some distance between our roads and our wetlands. #SaveNoseCreek #SNCbirds
The Fall Bird Migration brings some of the most beautiful birds to the Nose Creek Valley. Yesterday one of our fellow Creek-Heads snapped this pic of a Trumpeter Swan up near Stoney Trail! #SaveNoseCreek #SNCbirds #yyc #RockyViewCounty #Airdrie #yyccc #abpoli #cdnpoli #TrumpeterSwan #Swan
Be on the lookout this spring for the Western Meadowlark. This is one of those grassland birds that needs our native grasslands to survive. Please let us know if you spot one and record it on iNaturalist! #SaveNoseCreek #SNCbirds #yyc #RockyViewCounty #Airdrie #yycbirds #yycbird
We get many of our Bald Eagle sightings in the early part of Spring. Keeps your eyes open for these beauties! #SaveNoseCreek #SNCbirds
