I have been scattering bird seed out on the #snowcrete in the back yard to help the local birds for the last week, and today I saw a new bird I'd not seen before- an Eastern Towhee. So striking. I have yet to see my favorites, the tufted titmouse. I was excited to discover a new-to-me bird though!

The struggle is real - this WMATA worker is doing a lot of shoveling. The bus is likely high-centered on ice and snow right now.
More #snowcrete fun: a Metrobus tried to make the tight left turn from Florida Ave NW onto R Street in Dupont and got stuck in the unplowed surface. I’ve loaned the WMATA technician my metal shovel to help clear. Tires on these buses are NOT winter ready!
