Auf der Weser vor Bremerhaven liegt ein Großsegler mit weißem Rumpf und drei Masten mit gerefften Segeln. Er ist über die Toppen mit bunten Wimpeln geflaggt. Weiter hinten erkennt man die Masten und Wimpel eines weiteren Großseglers. Er zeigt am Heck die Flagge von Peru. Im Hintergrund sieht man die Häuser von Bremerhaven und einen Turm aus rotem Backstein mit einer grünen Kuppel. Das Foto wurde von der Weserfähre aus aufgenommen, so dass zwischen der Kamera und den Schiffen das Wasser in verschiedenen Blautönen ist. Der Himmel ist etwas blasser blau. Blick von unten an einem Mast der Gorch Fock entlang in den Himmel. Unten sieht man den Namen und ein Stück von Bordwand und Reling. Am Mast erkennt man die Rahen, die Wanten, viele Taue und die gerefften Segel. Von rechts ragt ein weiterer Mast ins Bild. Zwischen den beiden Masten erkennt man die Wimpel, mit denen die Gorch Fock über die Toppen geflaggt ist. Der Himmel ist blau mit ein paar kleinen weißen Wölkchen.
Blick von hinten auf die Hecks zweier spanischer Segelschiffe. Es sind sogenannte Naos. Das linke ist die Nao Santa Maria, ein Nachbau des Flaggschiffs von Kolumbus, mit dem er Amerika erreichte. Sie ist aus mittelbraunem Holz und etwas breiter. Das rechte, die Nao Victoria, ist aus sehr dunkelbraunem Holz und auffällig schmal gebaut. Sie ist ein Nachbau des Schiffs, mit dem Magellan die erste Weltumseglung gemacht hat. Beide Schiffe zeigen die spanische Flagge, die im Wind weht. Zwischen ihnen hindurch blickt man auf die Masten des Schulschiffs Deutschland.
Wir blicken am sehr dunkelbraunen Mast der Nao Victoria entlang nach oben. Der Mast glänzt in der Sonne. Oben sieht man den Mastkorb, von dem zwei Wanten und mehrere Seile ausgehen. Diagonal am Mast hängt ein gerefftes Rahsegel an einer Rah. Der blaue Himmel zeigt einen leichten Farbverlauf von heller (linke Bildhälfte) zu dunkler (rechte Bildhälfte).
